Who am I?

Who am I? – Today I thought ‘it’s been a while since I have introduced myself’. I have had a lot of fantastic new followers and clients lately and I just wanted to be able to tell you all a little bit more about who I am as a Beauty Therapist. I think it’s important to re-introduce yourself every now and again as it establishes you as a professional and shows your qualities and abilities to all the new and fantastic people out there. So here we go!
I am a fully qualified Beauty Therapist with over 8 years of in salon experience. I have grown and learnt so much since stepping foot out of beauty school. I worked in one salon for majority of my therapist years growing and learning. I learnt what I loved to do and what I hated. I learnt my strengths and weaknesses. I made mistakes and learnt to rectify them. I learnt how I loved to work and what ethically was important to me. I formed valuable relations between myself and my clients as well as everybody working in the salon. I have some very great and fond memories.
I love creating the perfect brow (even before they were a huge hit!). I loved recreating S.O.S brows (brows in serious trouble). The thing I loved most was seeing the pure state of happiness overwhelming the clients as they stood up and looked in the mirror. They would see hope for their brows and couldn’t wait to see the finalised result. This always made me feel good. I loved being the person to help them feel beautiful and confident. I have even had people cry over their brows! Good tears of course!
I am also a hot waxing specialist. I use hot wax over the whole body. You won’t find me using strip wax if I can help it! I am a huge advocate for this method of waxing. So are all my clients! Any one that tries it never looks back! It’s gentle in comparison and gets every. Single. Hair! Even the short fluffy ones! People notice a decrease in the return growth and they end up with less reactions like folliculitis and ingrowns.
I am also an advocate for continuous education. The industry is constantly changing and it’s up to us to keep up with all the changes. Knowledge has a beginning but has no end. Every therapist should be out there researching, re-educating themselves constantly. The more we know the more powerful we can be in our field. In saying this I also love teaching. I have taught many apprentices in my previous years and I enjoy seeing them get it! I love seeing them progress and turn into the best therapist they can be. Working hard to get the desired results for their clients.
I have recently opened up my own salon ‘Beauty Matters by Sarah’ as I decided to keep on growing and expanding. Owning a salon is actually something I never considered until recently. Let’s say the stars aligned and here I am! And now after actually opening and having my clients and my own space – I love it! I would never have it any other way! Yes it can be very challenging at times and not everything runs smoothly all the time but honestly, wouldn’t have it any other way. It is teaching me knowledge in a different way. Teaching me new mistakes and new things to love and hate. I am constantly growing and expanding and love every second of it.
So that’s me. That’s just a little look into my life as a Beauty Therapist. I am always happy to answer any and all of your questions. You just have to ask!
